As the weather gets colder please make sure your child has a warm coat to wear outdoors for recess. We go out every day unless it is raining.
We have a field trip coming up to Ramsey’s Farm on October 31st. Please make sure that your child wears sneakers and brings a bagged lunch.
If your child has already used their change of clothes at school please make sure you send in a replacement so they are not without extra clothing.
Since we are participating in Book It! Please make sure you keep track of all of the books that your child reads by themselves or with an adult. If you need another book log send me a note I will give your child a new one.

September

The month of September was quite successful! Students have really been establishing and maintaining the rules and routines. We have been working on syllable counting and deleting, sight words, letters, and sounds. We have been learning about Trees in science and about sorting and counting in Mathematics. Please continue to check your child’s book bag each day for homework and important papers. I look forward to the month of October and all of the learning it brings!!

I am looking forward to working with your child this year! As you are preparing for the school year please make sure your child has scissors, crayons, glue, and pencils at home to use for daily homework assignments. Because I feel it is important to keep communication between home and school it is imperative that you check you child’s book bag each day. I send home daily happy/sad notes, daily homework, and important information from school that I do not want you to miss. If you need to reach me at school my phone number is 323-2935 ext. 1033 or you can email me at mblythe@colonial.k12.de.us Let’s make it a great year!
